Obituary of Patricia Ann Milbaugh

IN THE CARE OF

Halteman Fett & Dyer Funeral Home

Patricia Ann (DiGiando) Milbaugh passed away on 6/12/2025 at the age of 77. Known as Pat to some and Tricia or Trish to others, her sweet and generous spirit touched all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. The only child of Helen P (LeFever / DiGiando) Lloyd and Lawrence P DiGiando, Patricia was born 11/2/1947 in Newark, Ohio. Shortly after her birth, Patricia’s father suffered a debilitating brain injury that required lifelong care in a Veteran’s hospital. As her mother Helen was thrust into the role of primary parent, the LeFever siblings – especially Aunt Bernice “Boo” LeFever - and their families surrounded Helen and Patricia with their love and support and were the source of countless special memories.

Patricia graduated from Newark High School in 1965. After graduation, she worked at the Welles department store where she modeled and worked in the finance department. Patricia was graced with a step-father after her mother remarried Ralph G Lloyd in 1966. Around the same time, Patricia met Danny Milbaugh, whom she wed in 1969 after he returned home from the Vietnam War. The couple settled in Lancaster, Ohio a few years later. Patricia gave birth to the couple’s only child, Kira, in 1976.

Patricia became a stay-at-home mother who devoted her life to her family. Patricia gave her time freely as a volunteer at Tarhe Elementary School and devoted countless hours attending her daughter’s various activities. She was her daughter and granddaughter’s biggest cheerleader.

Patricia was a member of the United Methodist Church of Newark, Ohio. She loved reading, gardening, animals, and children. She was a proud supporter of several charities for animals, children, and veterans. Several of her loved ones preceded her in death. In addition to her Heavenly Father, Patricia was eager to reunite with her loved ones, particularly her father, in Heaven. Patricia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kira and Shawn Hertzfeld, her only granddaughter, Rylee Grace Hertzfeld, several nephews and nieces, including special niece Cyndi Squires, as well as several dear friends, especially Bonnie Allen and Sarah Pugh.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at Fairfield Medical Center and The James for the care and dignity they provided to Patricia as she navigated the challenges of a rare lung disease.

A celebration of life for Patricia will be held at a later date.
