Jeffrey Pedelty

Welcome back Terri. We miss you when your gone. You guys are great.

BTW - A friend of mine sent me this. I hope you can appreciate it as much as I did.
***************************************
In case you missed it on 60 Minutes, this is what Andy Rooney thinks about women over 40:

60 Minutes Correspondent Andy Rooney (CBS)
As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:

A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, 'What are you thinking?' She doesn't care what you think.

If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting.

Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. " Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it."

Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.

Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40.

Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.

Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk, if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize.

For all those men who say, 'Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?', here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!

Andy Rooney is a really smart guy!

Kim Kimba Billing (Deleon)

Oh, and I did get a job......back supporting the economy again. Martha, I haven't talked with you in a while, and you may the only one who doesn't know what I'm doing....I work in Howard City (not to far from Croton, if you remember) for The River Valley Shopper. I am the "office coordinator", and so far, so good. Not big money, but can't beat the 32 hour work week, which I have, and I get out at 1:00 on Fridays.

Can you believe that it's been a year since we've all started talking here on this site?

Welcome back to the forum Kim, now a working girl....sounds more like semi-retirement. Hope it keeps going well for you..... how's the golf game...any other golfers out there want to brag about their scores. Me, I don't golf. I may take up Wi golf, that I maybe able to handle. Just like Wi bowling. Well, it's nappitime for me. Worked last night and I've hit my limit. Bye........

I will be heading into the great outdoors next week. Joining 3 other friends and we're headed to Canada.
Canoeing in the Quetico wilderness area. Maybe I'll have more pics.... if we survive :) It's a combo road trip/canoe trip. Lots of ground to cover and water to paddle.
I hope all of you are having a great beginning to your summer fun!!

Paula Hanlon (Veneklase)

Mitzi that sounds like quite the adventure. Beeee careful, aren't there like major wild animals in Canada?
Bears, bobcats, mountain lions, are you going to have a guide? Have a great time. I'm looking forward to a weekend visit with Justin & Erin. John's brother and family are visiting from Tenn. too this weekend for a graduation party. So it will be a nice start to the summer.

Paula Hanlon (Veneklase)

Yea!!!! Schools out!!!

06/09/09 10:20 AM #181

Mitzi Carlson (Beckman)

Our guide is our fearless leader, Cathy. She is our expert trip planner and has paddled these waters before.

Of course, safety measures are always taken when in the wild to avoid any unwanted animal encounters.

We have a few portages. The longest being a 1/2 mile. Not too bad. I have plenty of pain reliever for the aching muscles I expect with all the paddling.

Wow Mitzi! Quetico will be AWESOME! Whitewater is always fun. Be sure to share when you get back. You ARE cool!

Hey, I just found out the Dead will be playing 33 miles from my Mom's house in Newaygo on the 4th of July!!

The Dead (my number one favorite!), Bob Dylan (the ONE and only!), Willie Nelson, Yonder Mountain String Band (amazing band!), Black Crowes, String Cheese Incident, King Sunny Ade (incredible). Peter Rowen, and so many more!! Plus fireworks and a cool light show!

Rothebury Festival

Oh my. ALL my west coast hippie friends will be in your area for a few days. I might try to make it. This is going to be the biggest music bash of the summer and it is in your backyard!!!

Go and experience the scene! Wear tie-dyes, eat vegetarian burritoes, dance like crazy, and say hi to my peoples!! It will be the party of a lifetime! I promise you that!! GO GO GO!

:)

Hey Rob, That takes place at the J&J Ranch, remember our senior class trip was there, though without the 4**** hotel status, that was the days of horseback riding, volleyball and canoeing. Hope you can make the trip and enjoy the fun. As for me a nice kinda quiet time at my brother-in-laws cottage is in store for our 4th of July.
Rock on!!!! Paula

Back from the Quetico Wilderness of Canada. No whitewater Rob just big bodies of water. All waterfalls were portaged around.

We met a woman in Grand Marias, Minnesota who will be attending Rothbury. She was excited to know we lived so close.
I've got my concert money spent already this summer on a few concerts, so no Rothbury for me. My first concert will be seeing Dylan's son play with the Wallflowers June 29th. Should be great! Also taking in a few other concerts at the Meijer Garden outdoor venue.

My trip was GREAT, warm, challenging, buggy, a paddler's paradise, a very special time with great friends. Would I go back....YOU BET!

Check out a few pics....

Sounds like fun Mitzi! I was thinking whitewater for some reason. Not sure why.

It doesn't look like I'll make it up there for Rothbury. I have too much to do around here and will be taking pix on the 4th for a website I work on.

But I am heading to Palm Island for a few days leaving today. A friend has offered his beach house to us for the week. It will be nice to do nothing but walk on the beach and watch sunsets.

:)

Ahhhhhhhhhh.......

Mitzi Carlson (Beckman)

Sounds relaxing!!
As far as Rothbury goes I'm sure your friends will fill you in on the great time they'll have. There's always next year!!
Just finished editing my pics. Take a look!

The pix are BEAUTIFUL!! I'd say the campsite is at least a 15! I think I'll add it to my long list of places to see. I'm going to Nova Scotia and Bay of Fundy in August. My feet on Clam Bayou in Florida: :)
