Girls Fondu Reunions

It was 1971, seven Newaygo sophomore girls were looking for a way to pass the time during the long Christmas break from school. Enter a great idea… a fondue party where we would have an excuse to wear our midi (not mini, not maxi) skirts. What is amazing is that we have been doing this every year since then
We just held our 43rd annual fondue in Newaygo! We still dish about boys, now usually our husbands or sons and grandsons (or maybe George Clooney), and clothes, and school, and work, and parents and siblings (if we’re lucky enough to still have them).
We take turns hosting the fondue. In addition to dressing up and getting together and catching up over the past year’s activities and sharing great fondue food and sharing and taking pictures, we read predictions we wrote the previous year for the coming year. It’s a special event we look forward to all year. Friends travel from Georgia, Carolina, and Oregon to attend this Christmastime reunion. Not all seven make it every fondue but we’re always a Fab Four or Five. The fun, the camaraderie, it's all based around this little pot of hot oil, melted cheese, or (the very best), melted chocolate!
Note from Clint: They model "reunion excellence." Hey we have models in our class.
