Jason Schmuckal

 Former Newberry resident, Jason J. Schmuckal, 25, of Sault Ste. Marie, died Sunday December 1, 1996 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petsokey from injuries he sustained in a automobile accident in Chippewa County. He was born February 26, 1971 in Traverse City, Michigan.

Jason was a 1989 graduate of Newberry High School and a member of the National Honor Society. He had been a Sault Ste. Marie resident the past year and employed as a shift leader at Phoenix Accu-Drive in Kinchloe. He enjoyed Baseball, Basketball, darts, and cards.

Jason is preceded in death by his father Joseph Schmuckal.

Survivors include his mother Jackie (Ron) Ross of Newberry, brothers Joshua Schmuckal and Jeremy Ross, both of Newberry; girlfriend Leigh Ann Craycraft, and daughter Destyni both of Sault Ste. Marie

Jason, let's see, well he was the type that would never turn his back on anyone, he was thoughtful,caring,funny,he would do anything to help someone. he was so much funto be around,and he made you laugh. i will never forget him, i still think about him till this day. we love you and we miss you, (In My Heart Forever)

Jason was a close friend we had a ton of great times and laughs. Even when times were bad we still were great friends. We use to tear it up in Traverse City....whoooooooooo hoooooo!He will never be forgotten..Miss you man.

I won't Forget Him it was just a few days before that i celebrated Thanksgiving dinner with him his Girlfriend & daughter and Our other friend Patrick Craycraft & Wife we celebrated and toasted to the past and future and has one heck of a dinner on thanksgiving that year I think of him often and Every Thanksgiving I always say a prayer in his Honor God Bless ya Jason

I will never forget him, he could always make you smile by doing something silly. I saw his brother last summer when i was up visiting my mom, grandmother and brother. It brought back alot of memories. He will always be with us.

Jason was a great guy. It's a tragedy that his life was taken at such an early age. Thankfully he has friends and family who still remember what a great guy he was. He will always be in our hearts until it's our turn to go.
