Micah Matthias

When I attended DBCS, I was there as Mandy, but I've since changed my name to Micah. I am transgender, and would love to talk with fellow alumni about how the experience of coming out has enriched my faith and my life.

I've also recently started a nonprofit to support young folks like I was who are living and organizing for LGBTQ justice in Christian communities. Check it out here: www.sanctuarycollective.org.

I live in Brooklyn, NY and go to Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan. If anyone passes through NYC, look me up!

Too many to list! I was there from first grade all the way through high school graduation, and still fondly remember the lessons learned from all the fantastic teachers - Mrs. Fletcher, Miss Johnson, Miss Spring, Mrs. Edington, Mrs. Busan, Mrs. Bell, Mr. Haggerty, just to name a few!
