I am very saddened by the passing of Vernon. I first met Vernon in grade school.  He went to Washington and I at Lincoln we played basketball at the "Y" and he was taller than most of us and Washington usually beat us.      In Jr. High it was all about sports, Football,Basketball and Baseball.  We became locker pals for all three years in high school, again all three sports. Vernans car of choice was a Model T, we always knew when he was coming.  'I bet he wished he had it in later years' and dragging main.

Like most of us we went our seperate ways after High School.  I was able to follow his BB playing when at Wichita State and of course his moving to Yreka and finding his place  to settle and call home.

Vernon was a nice guy and I considered a friend.  I know he will be missed by all that knew and loved him,  I for one will never forget Vernon.

God is hope, God is comfort,God be with you
