I know that his obituary should be in the Newton and Wichita papers this week, maybe Monday or Tuesday. His funeral will be Friday at Salem United Methodist Church in Newton. It would be an opportunity to speak with Rose and/or the rest of the family. I think it would be accurate to say he died from complications of diabetes.

Vickie Akers passed away 12-19-16 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita from complications of COPD. Her service is Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 10 a.m. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.
