Carolyn Colestock Lindsey

Carolyn L. Lindsey, 69, of Veedersburg, Indiana,, passed away 1:32 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at I.U. Health in Indianapolis.  Carolyn was born April 14, 1944, in Hoisington, Kansas, the daughter of Albert and Donna Elizabeth (Childers) Colestock. She married Jerry E. Lindsey June 30, 1962, in Newton, Kansas. Surviving family include her husband, Jerry Lindsey, Veedersburg; a daughter, Lori (Ed) Lindsey-Clarkston, Hillsboro, Indiana.; a son, Michael (Kristin) Lindsey, Wichita, Kansas; a sister, Doris Matal, Odessa, Missouri; three grandchildren, Cassandra Pitcher, Caden Lynn, Brayden Lindsey; and one great-grandchild, Raiden Taylor. She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. Carolyn graduated in 1962 from Newton High School in Kansas.

Her life revolved around raising and caring for her family. She loved to be in the kitchen cooking for her family, to the extent that she had acquired the nickname "The Food Pusher." The joy of her life was indeed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg, Indiana, with Pastor Steve Padgett and Pastor Jack Lindsey officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, and continue until the time of service. Burial will follow service at Coal Creek Cemetery, near Stringtown, Indiana.
