Marianne K. Miller, 81, died October 28th in Newton, Kansas. Marianne was born to Dr. Cornelius and Hilda Wiebe Krahn on November 16, 1943, in Hillsboro. She attended Cooper Elementary and Newton High School and earned bachelor's degrees in English and elementary education from Bethel in 1967. She later earned a master's degree in special education at Washburn University. Marianne married Stan Miller on September 5, 1970, at Southern Hills Mennonite Church, Topeka. Together, they raised four children. She taught at Lynn Elementary in Topeka and at various schools in USD 405 for over 40 years. Marianne was predeceased by her parents; infant brother, Peter; sister, Karla Krahn Drake; and granddaughter Brandi Burris Petrick. She is survived by her husband of 55 years; daughters Trina Miller and Cynthia Castegnaro (Wayne Jr.); sons Seth (Nadia Gibson) and Thad (Jennifer Lantz); sister Cornelia Krahn (Kent Olson); brothers-in-law David Drake and Steve Miller (Shawn); sisters-in-law Barbara Callahan (Larry) and Becky Frederick (Mike); three grandchildren; three great-grandsons; 14 nieces and nephews; and many beloved cousins. Visitation will be from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 15, 2025, at First Mennonite Church, 1161 E. A Avenue, McPherson, KS 67460, with funeral services to follow at 10:30 a.m. Faspa will follow the service. Private burial will take place. The ceremony will be officiated by Pastor Lynn Schlosser.
