Charlene Kay Partridge O'Connor
Charlene Kay O'Connor passed peacefully from this life on July 1, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on January 24, 1944, Charlene lived a life marked by deep faith, service to others, and a warm, joyful spirit.
Charlene's strong Christian faith was at the heart of her life. She was a longtime member of St. John's in Moore, where she worshipped with her husband for 30 years, and later became an active member of First Baptist Church of Newcastle. There, she served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher and in the nursery for over five years. No matter which church she attended, Charlene made lasting friendships that became like family. Her generous heart extended beyond the church, supporting numerous organizations and causes close to her heart.
Charlene led a rich and diverse professional life. She drove school buses for Moore Public Schools, owned and operated her own hair salon, earned her associate degree in Medical Records from Rose State College in her 50s, and spent the remainder of her career at Norman Regional Healthplex before retiring.
A lover of music, Charlene enjoyed everything from gospel hymns to the sounds of CeCe Winans and Elvis Presley. She cherished time with her grandchildren, always finding ways to spoil them with love and laughter. In quieter moments, she enjoyed watching Duck Dynasty, Dr. Phil, and Hallmark movies, or feeding her faith through religious programming.
Charlene also shared special moments with her husband as members of the local Corvette Club. She loved shopping, healthy living, and good Italian food-with carrot cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes being one of her favorite treats.
Charlene is survived by her loving family: sons, Robert O'Connor and his wife, Rhonda, of Newcastle, and Mike O'Connor and wife, Sara, of Noble; brothers, Bob Partridge and his wife, Trudy, and Wayne Partridge and his wife, Helen, both of Newton, Kansas; grandchildren, Miranda and Nick Collins, Zachary Hobgood, Casey, Patrick, and Andrew O'Connor; and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert O'Connor, and her parents, Russell and Marie Partridge.
Charlene will be remembered for her kindness, her faith, and the joy she brought to those around her.
