Jim Baldwin, 58, died Wednesday March 19, 2003 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born October 10, 1944 to Harrison and Dorothy (Hartsell) Baldwin in Hugoton.  His mother survives of Newton.  He married Beverly Robinson September 13, 1969 in Wichita.  She survives of Florence.

He grew up in Newton and attended Newton High School.  He joined the U.S. Navy after his junior year and served on a mine sweeper.  He was an employee of J.B.Construction-Roofing.  He was a member of the Methodist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Peabody, and the American legion of Florence.  He spent his remaining years in Florence.  He also was a volunteer firefighter, an ambulance driver, and a little league baseball coach.

Other survivors include: a son, Dean Baldwin of Marion; a daughter, Michelle Parks of Newton; three brothers, Ben Baldwin of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bob Baldwin of Moundridge, and Phil Baldwin of Newton; two sisters, Goldie LaGree and Diane Miller, both of Newton; and three grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by three brothers.
