Richard Henry Wiens, 61 died Tuesday, March 28, 2006.  He was born Nov. 5, 1944 to Nick and Evelyn Wiens in Halstead.

He graduated from Newton High School in 1962, going to work for Excel Industries right after graduation and completing 44 years this past fall.

Survivors include wife Mary Lee of Hesston; Kim and husband Brett Barber and their children Katelyn Taylor and Mason Tanner of Hesston; Phil and wife Krista and their children Kennedy Marie, and Cooper John of Nappanee, Indiana, mother Evelyn of Hesston, sisters Marilyn and husband Phil Maran of ElDorado, and Carol and husband Michael Grannan of Hammond, Wisconsin, a brother-in-law Jim Smith of Hesston and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Dianne and his father, Nick.
