We became fast friends when Mike reached out after 9/11. I returned support a few years later when cancer quickly took him down. In between, our friendship was immensely entertaining and spread into our families and social circles. Dr. Mike was an original authentic force of nature. I miss him very much.

I am so sad to learn only now of the loss of Michael. He was a terrific opponent in some class president election, although which one escapes me now. But also, he was also a great friend, and it was clear from others that he became a first rate doctor. For me, he will be someone I remember only the best from Newton High.
