1978 and '79 had the great debate between rock and disco. Village People, Gloria Gaynor, Donna Summer seemed so great back then (still do to some folks).....I remember the deep, meaningful philosophical debates trying to convince whoever owned the turntables for that dance that disco was okay to play.

How do you remeber all this?

I know that Jess Jones and I did several of the dances and to this day, the only Disco records I still have (and yes, I do still own some records) are ones that I had to purchase to play at the Dances. Nobody seemed to like to Dance to Led Zeppelin or Rush.....

The worst night though was the night we blew up both amps and had no music until someone could go home and get another stereo. Didn't have a happy crowd that night.
