I don't remember when but yes she was in our class and then there was Karl I don't remember his last name.  I think he was the son of a preacher.

Yes, Vonis Baker was in our class and yes, she died in a car accident.  I'm sure the year was 1986.  Her funeral was on April 1.  I remember quite vividly since she had asked if I wanted to come with her that afternoon.  Unfortunately or fortunately, I had to work so I could not ride with her that day.

Karl's last name is Krugler.  You are correct that his father was the minister at Mt. Olive on Omaha Ave. (I'm pretty sure).  We also have lost Maury Zimmerman.  I was confirmed with both Vonis and Maury at Our Savior Lutheran.

Vonis died either late of '84 or early '85.  I just know that it was our first year out of HS and was my Freshman year and my mom had called to let me know.  Lost control of her car & rolled north of Norfolk somewhere.  I could find out for-sure the year.

Karl died summer of '85, I believe.....he was at Seward with me that one year.  I remembered he was Pre-Seminary.  That was a car accident--he was on the hood or trunk and fell off--was run over by the car.

We've also lost Alan Andrew, Maurey Zimmerman (I believe was suicide) and there was someone who had cancer......but cannot remember off the top of my head.  He and his dad fixed small moters or something--had a little business in Norfolk. Where is my yearbook????Last name of Bowers.....correct me if I'm wrong!  I can see his face!

It seems like there are more ???  Maybe not.

Yes, I do believe it was him.  He was a nice guy! :(

Are there any others???  It'd be nice if we can acknowlege them.

Do you remember the year, or should I just put him under unknown?

Sorry....that's one I don't remember BUT maybe we should do some checking before we post a death taht didn't happen.  However...I'm pretty sure it did.

Remember any others?  Didn't they have a slide show last time with 'in memorial' ??  Check with Sara.

Allen Andrews also died, and Adriana Falcon (exchange student).  Those are the only additional ones I can think of right now.

There wasn't a slide show, but we recognized them somehow, as we also did the classmates serving in the military.

A slide show and a book of what everyone is doing would be nice, but I don't have the time or energy to put anything like that together.  If anyone is interested in picking up the torch on these or the reunion planning, I am more than happy to pass it on!

i know there are at least 10 who have passed away. i can't give you details but at last count at the last reunion that is how many have left us early. we should try to get more details and say a prayer for them or something.

Maurey Zimmerman did commit suicide in Bowen Hall dorm at Wayne State. Would have been early 1985 or maybe 1986.

Thanks, Natalie.  I've been wondering how Maurey died since the last reunion.
