"Our Dear, Sweet Joy

Journal entry by Lesley Dougherty

Joy passed away peacefully on Friday morning, January 19th (2018),
surrounded by the love of dear friends and family. Though she was not
always strong enough to answer your cards, texts, and calls of encouragement
and support, she cherished receiving every one of them. She was so grateful to those
who brought dinners, tended her garden, took care of her beloved cats, and just kept everything going in so many ways.

Joy was unique in that she made each person she met feel special. Her warmth, humor, and inclusiveness brought so many of us together as friends. In that spirit and to honor her example, there will be a happy hour o celebrate her life on Friday, February 9th. Please mark the date and look for upcoming details which will be forthcoming soon."

Dear Sweet Joy,

I am speechless.  I don't know if I can ever come to another class reunion if Joy is not there!

She made the party! I am so saddened to hear this news of an old friend filled with life and vigor the last time I saw her at the 45th! I guess I was always the oddball not keeping up with my close group of friends from

Norristown High.....Joy always had a special place in my heart growing up and alot of fun and laughter.  Although we only saw each other at the reunions, we always clicked like we had no time in between.

I will miss not seeing her again.  May she rest in peace with our Lord and Savior.

Blessings to All,

Patty (Tempest) Bowman
