On the 17th of this month (July, 2014 –ss) I lost one of the most important people in my life. My brother Bobby passed away after fighting a long hard battle. He just couldn't fight any longer.
Bob was always there for me I have such warm wonderful memories. From him pressing my dresses when I was in kindergarten, taking me horseback riding for the 13th birthday, chaperoning my 16th birthday sleepover, helping to plan my wedding and being David's godfather.
When I moved to AZ he would visit every year on Thanksgiving. We would eat dinner then get in the car and just go. We never knew where we were headed, we just drove. We would laugh, sing, and many times, cry together during these drives together.
He asked me to take him home from the hospital so he could pass at home. Bob has always been a generous person and his goal in life was to help people in need.
The past week has been spent going through his belongings and finding so many certificates and awards for all the amazing things he has accomplished in his life.
His determination to continue working as long as possible, telling me he had to do the DUI class on Saturday to try and reach as many people as he could proved his dedication. He only stopped working when they told him he couldn't come back because of the fear of him falling.
I did not want to lose the one person who had the most positive impact in my life. I was being selfish. It was his time to go and my last gift to him was to allow him to be home.
Bobby, thank you, and I know you will always be there.
GOD BLESS
