Madeline "Peggy" Kaufman Hiney August 5, 2010 Madeline "Peggy" Kaufman Hiney, 58, died Thursday, August 5, 2010, at her home in Chesapeake, VA. She was born in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Francis Kaufman and Elizabeth Durgee Kaufman, and was the widow of Daniel T. Hiney. She was a 1970 graduate of North Syracuse High School. She is survived by her daughters, Tina Fisher Phelps (Mark) and Elizabeth Hiney (fiance, Bo Hudgins); sons, Daniel Steven Hiney and James Daniel Hiney, all of Chesapeake, VA; stepsons, Michael Hiney and Jason Hiney; grandchildren, Cameron and Casey Phelps; sisters, Barbara Kaner, Marilyn Correia and Phyllis Maynard; stepsister, Karen Clay; stepbrothers, Donald Raymond and James Raymond; numerous nieces and nephews; best friends, Marion Gilbert, Sheila Monica and Carolyn Linthicum; and her cat companions, Simba and Newbie. A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010, in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Portsmouth, VA, with burial next to her husband in Portsmouth Catholic Cemetery. Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, VA, is handling arrangements.
