Diane Lee Massie, 63, of Baldwinsville, made her way to the music hall of heaven.
Diane was a retired music teacher in the Baldwinsville School District. She was an alumni of Ithaca College and Syracuse University. She taught many successful students over the years. Diane was also a member of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra as a picoloist and flutist for many years.
Diane enjoyed several hobbies such as majong, writing, painting and astronomy. She also successfully completed her training at the Gemological Institute of America. Her greatest joy over the years has been running the bird cam from her home for the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Her volunteer work in this field has been viewed all over the world.
Diane is survived by her precious dog, Hunny Bunny, her sister, Sharon Massie-Trudeau of North Syracuse, her nieces, Sarah-Beth Trudeau of Longueuil-Quebec and Mindy Lee Ford of Burlington, Ontario and several great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the: Cornell Lab of Ornithology, 159 Sapsucker Woods Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service.

Diane was my good, good friend from the first months we met back in 7th grade - maybe even before- when Cicero elementary was housed in Gillette Rd Jr High for a patch. She was a bright light in the music program always - a very talented musician who went on to a good career after Ithaca Collage in both orchestras and teaching in B-ville schools. I shall miss her terribly - a good soul has moved on. - Kelly Champion
