
James Hafner, 51, of Northampton, died Thursday, October 1, 2009 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Born October 2, 1957 in Allentown, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Fota) Hafner. He and his wife, Christine A. (Leindecker) Hafner, were married on September 29, 1979. He worked as a petroleum service tech and also worked at Blue Mountain Ski Area in the racing department. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Northampton. He served as a sergeant in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He was a former assistant fire chief in Northampton. James was a member of Chapman Masonic Lodge 637, Siegfried Chapter 295, Lehigh Consistory and Rajah Temple. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors: Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rebecca A. Hafner and her fiance, Sherwood Handelong, of Weissport; son, Matthew J. and his wife, Jennine Hafner, of Bear, Del.; grandchild on the way.

I was shocked to find out Jim passed. I remember the good times we had on the tech bus together. Him and the Churetta boy would always tease me. He was really a cool kid. Rest in Peace Jim.
