Dale R. Smith, 47, of Danielsville, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, in Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center. He was the husband of Lisa (Thatcher) Smith. They observed 18 years of marriage last Nov. 9. Born Jan. 23, 1957, in Allentown, he was a son of Shirley M. (Miltenbregr) Smith of Bath and the late Allen R. Smith. He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Bath, where he served as an elder.

Dale. What a nice person he always was. I will never forget how he had open heart surgery in 8th grade. Once in Mr Snyder's algebra class in Jr. High, right after his surgery, Mr Snyder, during class, walked back to Dale's seat and knocked him right out of his chair onto the floor. I was so shocked that a teacher would do that to someone who just had heart surgery. Dale sat about 3 seats behind me when it happened. I never knew what he did wrong.Dale and I remained friends for many years after graduation. Once we went out to a biker type picnic. It was kinda weird, as I was never really into that sorta thing. Dale wasn't either, but why we ended up there, I'll never know!
Dale was kind and I lost track of him after he got married and had children, but I'll bet ya those kids had a nice Dad.

Dale and I go back a long time. We hung out together after my first married ended. We used to go out to bars and dance and drink and hang out all night into the morning go out to breakfast sometimes ending up at his house. He was always good to my daughter and we used to do things with her. Wow I remember all the good times we had he was a great guy but, I loved him like a good friend and he want more. I use to talk to him after he got married for awhile then I moved and got married again and then we just lost touch with one another I did not know that he died. May in rest in peace we all have memories of him and he touched my heart and will always have a piece of it.

I was thinking about Dale the other day and was trying to remember the last time I saw him. I remembered it was at my niece's wedding in 1995 he was a friend of my niece's husband. I was surprised to see him there I meet his wife and he showed me a picture of his daughters. We talked about old times and laughed alot at the reception he asked me to dance like old times. He was a good man and seemed happy with his life, I sure his family misses him alot. I will always remember him may he rest in peace.
