Joann was my best friend. I grew up in the country (Lehigh Township) and it was always a nice change to have sleep overs at her Bath home where we could go to Spars for an ice cream or walk to church. Joann taught me to play tennis and as seniors we were both on the NHS first year tennis team. Joann was an intelligent woman and earned her degree in environmental sciences from Lehigh University. She was maid of honor at my wedding. When her scientific job at the EPA took her to live in New Jersey, we still kept in touch by phone. Joann never married or had children. She loved her family, her pet cats, and her job. Joann struggled with an illness that claimed her life in 1998. Joann's fun loving and gentle nature is greatly missed by all those who knew her well.
