I am looking forward to seeing many of my "old" friends.

Do you still have family around Norwich?

Yes - my Mother, brother, cousins, nieces and nephews

How often do you get back to Norwich?

every couple of months

What do you do now?

Personal Support Worker - Christian Horizons - group home for individuals who need assistance in living.

How did you get into that line of work?

They were my neighbours in South River. I needed a job and they needed help.

What did you always want to do that you haven't done yet?

I've pretty much fullfilled my dreams - worked at a zoo (Metro Toronto Zoo), lead nature tours all over eastern North America plus Texas and Arizona, got paid to birdwatch on the Breeding Bird Atlas project, own a cottage, and visited Africa twice. I'm looking forward to getting a pontoon boat and hot tub for the cottage.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Birdwatching.
Volunteer for the Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre
Swimming at the Wellness Centre
Go to theatre events
Gardening

How old do you feel?

30 something - (30 - 25)

Sure - a few - I raised 4 teenagers!

What would we be surprised to know about you?

That I am a PSW - it really wasn't what I ever thought I would do, but I love it!

Biggest thing you would do differently if you went back to your time at NDHS?

Drink more wine. Go to more parties.

Swimming.

Cool things you've done in your life?

Went on safari in Africa (Senegal)
Made friends in The Gambia, West Africa, and visited their compound several times for a true African meal eaten off one plate
Taught Polar Bear cubs how to swim
Visited Turtle Lodge in an inaccessible part of Algonquin Park (special permission)
Raised a daughter and 3 sons
Canoed the Pickeral and Key Rivers with friends.
Canoed and camped in Algonquin Park with friends
Worked at the Metro Toronto Zoo for 6 years
Worked for the Breeding Bird Atlas in remote areas of N. ON.
Was Staff Naturalist for the Federation of Ontario Naturalists - wrote a book - Wildlife in Jeopardy, an co-edited A Nature Guide to Ontario.
Lived in South River - had moose, bears, deer, foxes, flying squirrels' barred owls and lots of other wildlife in the back yard
Worked for a dogsledding company - Chocpaw Expeditions. Owned a sled dog. Went on a dogsled expedition (winter camping)
Created the Huron Fringe Bird Festival for McGregor Point Provincial Park 12 years ago. Lead trips for the festival for many years. It is on the weekend of the reunion this year.
Got paid to go to a conference in Calgary Alberta to present a resolution which I wrote that was used by the Canadian Federation of University Women to create policy on endangered species

Lots of times- North Carolina, Florida - Atlantic and Gulf sides, Galveston Texas, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI and the other side of the world - England, Scotland, and The Gambia west Africa.

Cried yourself to sleep?

Yes.

Ever sang Karaoke?

Never.

Done something you told yourself you wouldn't?

Yes. Moved without a moving van. Three times. Never again. (I hope)

Made prank phone calls?

Yes.

Laughed until some kind of beverage came out of your nose?

Unfortunately.

Danced your heart out?

Yes.

Been kissed under the mistletoe?

Yes.

Watched the sunrise with someone?

Yes. Awesome.

Blown bubbles?

Yes, and coloured ones too.

Been skinny dipping?

We do it at the cottage all the time.

Sat outside in the rain?

Lots of times. I love the rain.
