Elaine Bodine (Sima)

Elaine Bodine Sima passed away on May 5, 2024 from complications of Parkinson's disease and cancer.  She is survived by her husband, Jim; her children Jeffrey, Lauren, and David, and six grandchildren.  After high school she received her Bachelor's Degree from Purdue University and her Master's Degree from Concordia College.  Her love of books led her to co-author 15 romance novels, most of which were published under the pen name of Lynn Leslie. Elaine and her husband became "snowbirds" living in Naples, Florida and Union Pier, Michigan. Her biggest passion was travel, and visited every continent except Antarctica.

There will be a Celebration of Life in the coming months in the Chicagoland area.

Elaine Bodine Sima passed away May 5, 2024.  I met her Freshmen year in Biology Class, Mr. Shroeder.  We became fast friends when we found out each of us had been adopted.  It became our common bond.  We spent many happy weekends at Lake Geneva and we remained friends until the end. We  saw each other every couple of years when she was in Florida.  I could visit her and my cousin at the same time.  I was in touch with her recently to schedule a visit when I found out she was getting started on radiation treatments.  Never put off your visits to family and friends.  I was too late and now regret my delay.  Now I'm headed to Florida to her Memorial service.  She was a very good friend and I will miss her terribly.  RIP my dear friend.broken heart
