Garden Center Renamed In Honor Of Marsha Corprew
The Oakland City Council unanimously voted Tuesday to rename the Lakeside Park Garden Center in memory of Marsha Jean Corprew a former McClymonds High School student and teacher who served 22 years on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission, Corprew died last year. The garden center will now be called The Marsha J. Corprew Memorial Lakeside Park Memorial
Garden Center.
During her 22 years on the Advisory Commission, Corprew listened to countless testimony at many meetings in the Garden Center.
Quick Note
When Trintonial and I , Started looking for halls for the class reunion, We ran across the Marsha Corprew Garden Center. We were sadden because of the news, but delighted that it was named in her honor. She must have been loved by many people and touched many lives. I am so glad I had her as a teacher.Rest in peace ... Mrs Corprew.
