I am so sad that I will not be able to get together with all you guys, sounds like it's going to be a great time. Be sure to take lots of photos (and post them on the website) I will be thinking about you all and pray that you have a safe and happy weekend. Love to all. Aloha--Val

P.S. Lanny--cliff jumping or diving may not be a good thing at our age!!!!

Well, how about streaking at the football field/swimming pool? I can't remember if it was the guys in our class or the guys in the class ahead of us????/////Anyone want to comment? As I was the driver and shut my eyes and let the car drive itself???!!!Maybe Kathy remembers????

Aloha to you Val! So sad you can't make it! We will take lots of pics and will be thinking of you relaxing in hawaii! After all the bad weather conditions in Iowa this year, Hawaii sounds wonderful! Tornado, blizzard and flood all in 1 year.

I also hope and pray everyone has a safe trip, and for those who can't make it, keep in touch!

Monica--if I recall, it was the guys of 1977 you DIDN'T see!!! Surrreee you didn't look! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up. Will be a good time to remember the carefree days of our youth! See ya this weekend! Hey, thanks to all of you who have the big job of planning and coordinating the reunions - it is not an easy task I'm sure but each and every reunion I think everyone enjoys themselves! Thank you!

Val - I hope you are practicing your hula because at the 35 we will expect you to demonstrate that art!

Hey Kim,

Great to hear from you! Just talked to barber, she reminded me what happened and what I said, you are right, the carefree days of our youth! It will be fun to catch up.

I agree, a big big thank-you to all of you on the planning committee, we do appreciate it very much, and we always have a good time. It will be nice to keep in touch after the reunion as well!

Nice picture of you and your family, Kim!

My girls can't wait to go to the quarry, but only if Gary D. gets in the water again! Except they have grown a little!

See you soon!

Hey everyone....I posted some pics of our years together. Was trying to get them added into this message forum but just wouldn't let me or I'm not smart enough to figure that out! Some of the pictures were a little too big to scan on my scanner so I'm sorry if I cut anyone off - I tried my best. Enjoy!

Kim, Thanks for posting those old pictures, the newspaper ones are a couple of my favorites!! All of my school photos are back on the mainland, I went thru some of them before we moved--loved ones of birthday parties and sleep overs. Annette with curly hair!!, Jolene with a broken arm, all of us with glasses!!!Barbies, bus rides with Charlie the bus driver!!! Life was indeed carefree then.
Again, wish I was going to be there, have a great time.

A couple of "kids" that we grew up with but didn't graduate with us that I wonder where they are now~~

Val,

Kathy and I have been wondering about the names you mentioned and a few others like Jay Jensen, Cindy Shawler, Dawn Kullbom. We sure would like to find them before the next reunion so that we could invite them to attend. Wish you were going to be able to make it to the party but I understand why you can't. I just love this web site, I hope everyone will use it after the reunion to keep in touch. Hope to hear from you again soon.

Hey Lisa and Kathy,
As usual great minds think alike!!!! :)

08/14/08 12:43 AM #16

Kimberly Hamblin (McDonald)

Cynthia Shawler might be in Eugene, OR & appears Brian is too.
Ed Chitty seems to be in Parrish, FL
There is a Cory Panko in Cook, NE
Brian Zentmire might be in Estes Park, CO
Dawn Kulbom - nothing is showing except a Terry in Atlantic, IA
Maria Echaveria seems to be in CA -- but I might also be spelling her name wrong.

How about Jeff Mathiason - I know his dad lives in CB but appears he is in St. Paul, MN

Kind of looked all these up on Intelius.com...what I use to track people for my job. There is a section for People Search...will tell you their age, places they may be living & who they are related to. It costs to get their address.

Wow Kim, You are good.:) It's kinda amazing how much info is out there about all of us.....

Carol Miller (Kroft)

Dawn Kullbom is around Fremont, her folks are still in Co Bluffs. There are people I don't even remember! I looked over those Kindergarten pics (good job, Kim!) Does anyone remember a Bret and Laurie, can't remember a last name. Help me out, Phil and Lanny, they lived down the street from us.

Valerie Eschenbacher (Bloy)

Is it Baldwin??? If so, I have no idea how I remembered that, can't remember what I did this morning!! How about Steve Jamison?

08/15/08 12:36 AM #20

Lanny Johnk

Baldwin is right. Steve was in Texas last we spoke but that was about 5 years ago.

On a separate note: " I want to thank Jeff Martens for saving my life in New York City in 1979"- he knows the story!

08/15/08 01:31 AM #21

Kimberly Hamblin (McDonald)

Okay, Lanny...spill! We ALL want to know the story now. You brought it up so you better be ready to share it with everyone at the reunion - right guys?!!! Can't wait to see everyone and catch up - will miss those who are not able to attend but we will be thinking of you.

As I am waking up this morning I am having trouble deciding if I survived the 30th reunion. It was a tough one.

08/17/08 10:04 PM #23

Kimberly Hamblin (McDonald)

Danny - I do believe you survived if you woke up! It was wonderful to see everyone and catch up. Sorry we didn't make it to the Sunday picnic! See ya in another 5!

Dan
Just be glad you woke up!!!! Barber didn't make it to bed until Sunday night some time. Way to go Kathy, you rock!!!!!!! It was fun can't wait for the next one.

Love Lisa

Monica Mohr (Rankin)

Well, Dan, as I woke up this morning, the 2nd day after, I wondered the same thing, so don't feel bad! We woke up, that's a miracle in itself! I think we survived! I planned on my 17 year old to drive home yesterday, and she rode with her Dad, was tempting to let my 13 year old, though! Longest drive ever, needless to say, we made more pit stops this trip!

It was great to see everyone, and hope you all made it home safe!

PEACE!

Monike

Jeannie Brandes (Lawrence)

Well......I'm glad a few of you sobbered up to get back on the message forum. But I must say I'm surprised it was this soon. Monica, you are a trooper. I don't know how you made that drive back home. It must have been very painful. Anyway, it was great to see everyone. I can't believe how much all of you (except Roxi) have changed. I know I haven't. I will see you all at the 35 reunion but I plan on seeing the locals a bit more often while visiting my Mom. Take care.

Jeannie

I agree with Jeannie, Monica you are a trooper and Kathy- up all night? You 2 have stamina and make the class proud.

There were some of us who struggled thru a final round of golf before departing - Gayle, Scott, Brad, and Mike showed up at the clubhouse for a round Sunday at 10- although it took us an hour or so to talk ourselves into it! Great company and a great time!

So much fun seeing everyone - I meant it when I referenced that we are truly blessed for such a great class. Thanks again Lisa and Kathy for all your efforts, decorations, coordination of meal/activities. Also Sherrie for knocking down the beverage prices at the B.A. for the evening! We'll get some pics on the site and adjust things accordingly as soon as I can get Liss freed from the splinters in her jeans! Take care!

Sherrie Weaver (Martens)

Well, Monica agree with you it is a miracle we woke up. Had alot of fun and was great seeing everyone. Again, Kathy & Lisa big applause on all the work you did.

And Lanny---Melissa did a wonderful job on the website. How on the bruises?????

Take care everyone!!!!

08/19/08 02:16 AM #29

Valerie Eschenbacher (Bloy)

What can I say, looks like I missed one heck of a party. Can't believe so many of the guys even wore Hawaiian shirts---I am sure in my honor!!!!! :)what a hoot.
Now Monica tells me that there was a large amount of alcohol consumed---the class of 78--do tell.
You all look great, must admit I had to look at a few of the pics a couple of times to figure a few of you out--but I think I managed to name all those classmates. Tammy G. love your hair, Patty great John Travolta move.
I have a lot to do before the next reunion if Kim thinks I am going to do a Hula demo--haha--how about I just bring everybody a lei !!
Thanks to all who worked so hard on getting this reunion together, Melissa, the website was/is wonderful, almost made me feel like I was there.
Keep in touch, and if you want to come to Hawaii, look me up--you're welcome at my house.
Hope more pics get posted--they are such fun to see.

Hugs to you all see ya in 5.

Did you know that Pete and Pam picked up this nice old man walking on the highway at 12:30a.m and he said his name was Kenny McDonald. He said he needed to walk because his back was hurting and we said how far are you walking? And he said to PERSIA or until his wife picks him up. We took him to our gravel road corner and he demanded to get out and he would walk the rest of the way. I hope you got home ok, I'm sure your wife was right behind us;)

08/19/08 10:21 PM #31

Kimberly Hamblin (McDonald)

We did pick him up after the bar closed -- between Schuman's corner and Mrs. Shroeder's house. And we thought he had walked a long way - sneaky! LOL! Thanks for picking him up!
