Oscar Paredes, of Houston, TX, was born December 14, 1961, in San Antonio, TX to his parents, Oscar and Adelaida Paredes. He grew up in Odessa.

Oscar attended St. Mary's Catholic Church and graduated from Odessa High School in 1980. He was an active member of the Permian Playhouse's Kaleidoscope Company, appearing and performing in such productions as "Hansel & Gretel", "Hoddel de Boddel", and "My Fair Lady" as well as countless others. Oscar was also a decorated member of the OHS R.O.T.C. to which he achieved the distinct position of Lt. Colonel while participating in high school. He continued on at Odessa Community College as an active member and student of Dance and the Visual Arts.

He was a dancer by nature having studied and performed with the Permian Ballet Theater Guild under Toni Stice and Pat Hodges. He attended and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1985 with a degree in Choreography with an extensive "playbill" which included many, many dance concerts such as "Dance Spectrum in Concert" at SHSU. After many years of dance, Oscar went on the work for Dillards Department Store as an Area Manager as a highly awarded, respected and loyal employee for many years.

Oscar's interests changed and shifted towards helping and participating in charity work with the AIDS Foundation as well as AVES – Children with Aids programs. His countless hours of service and loving dedication will be missed by all who walked beside him on his path in life.

Oscar passed from this life on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. His funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The rosary will be Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 7:00 PM, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Family visitation will start at 6:00 PM.

He is survived by his loving parents, Adelaida and Oscar Paredes Sr., and his twin sister, Elizabeth (Lyzz) Paredes all of Odessa, TX.

Pallbearers will be Joe M. Paredes III, Steven Ruiz, Rene & Christian Fierro, Joseph Munoz, Rico Munoz, Nicolas & Noah Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Torres and Will Staples.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
