I recall talking to Hilda's ex-husband way back right after she graduated. In tears, he told me that Hilda had died in a car accident on the way to work one evening(?)and was broad-sided. I think that she died enroute to the hospital. He told me how very, very intelligent she was and all I recall about her was that she was so very quiet and didn't say much (so little we really "understand" about people until we know "a few details").
She wasn't very quiet with the ones she knew. I remember a fight she got into because someone was making a smart remark to me and she thought it was made toward her. Well Hilda smarted back at this girl and the fight was planned the next day.This girl she fought, bit her on the arm or leg, I can't remember but I do remember the fight.
Hilda was small but the girl was a fighter. She didn't go around picking fights that I know of, but she didn't tolerate people messing with her. She was a good person and loyal to her friends. What a sad tragedy.
