Okay, so I'm the crazy "social worker" that remembers all of these folks like yesterday (I admit, a little creepy, huh). But I recall reading the obituary write-up on her, too. She died right after I went back off to school and my mother called me because she lived grew up right around the corner from me. I believe she was found in her apartment and I have always wondered how her folks were doing as I rode the big ugly yellow bus to school with Dana and she LOVED frickin' Donny Osmond and the color purple and had all their info...(and I think Mr. O is STILL a dork). But Dana was Dana...you either loved her or did without!! I remember her laugh was contagious!!
Dana was a crazy girl. I loved her too. Cindy Lambright called me with the news that she had been killed or something. I never saw anything about her but I was one that really liked Dana. She and Tori Chisum were so fun together. The band trip to Arizona is the time I remember her most. I have so many pictures of her. God Bless
Dana committed suicide. She shot herself. She was a great girl. My wife saw her right before she killed herself and didn't have a clue she was depressed. She hid it well.
Yes, Butch is right, and yes she did hide it well, but my understanding was she had some family problems (mom & dad split up, disagreements with parents...etc) and her boyfriend and her had just broke up. Unfortunately she took this way out. She was a hilarious, vivacious, fun girl.....my last fun memory of Dana was she and another girl came knocking at my apt. door during the middle of the night after partying. I jumped up and answered it and they came staggering in laughing hysterically and asking to use my bathroom. They were about to pee there pants...lol
Like Sallie, I too rode the big ugly yellow bus to school with Dana. We were in all in the same schools together. Dana was a wonderful person who loved her friends. Once you were her friend, you stayed that way. She did not get hung up on social status-she liked people for who they were inside. She had an infectious laugh and prescence and you just could not help getting caught in it. There was not alot she wouldn't do or say. Truly one of a kind.
I was really good friends with Dana in school, I sill can not believe she is still not with us. My heart hurts to know how sad she was but she never really showed it. I hear she really wanted more attention from her parents and I remember Dana going to a football game with me and she wanted to sit by my dad! They laughed and she seemed to have a good time. I miss you Dana and ever time I hear the song “Wind beneath my wings” it brings back memories. Till we see each other again my friend ❤️❤️❤️❤️
