I have been trying to locate information. What I found was that he passed away in December 2005. At ancestry.com, there is a notation that his obit was published in a West Virginia newspaper, but I could not get a copy, it is a paid site and I have too many subscriptions now and I can't afford to get more now that I am retired. However, I will continue to look.
My understanding is that Chuck died of a brain tumor. He and his wife, Kay Rudicil Smith, had divorced before that time. She died of breast cancer within about a month of when Chuck died. Some of you may remember the precious daughters that they adopted. At one reunion, my daughter "babysat" for them in their hotel room during the reunion. Tragically, the girls lost both parents in this short period of time in 2005.
Margret Kaye Rudicil Smith, 60, of South Charleston joinedherLord and Savior on Jan. 1, 2006.Kaye continued to maintain her commitment to family, friends and her love of life for the past two years as she battled cancer, never letting cancer control her life.

Does anyone know what happened to him?
