Natalie and I became best buds in the 4th grade @ H. Guy Child Elementary. She was a nature lover extaordinaire, a competitive athlete, a strong student and a true pal. We spent many days after school catching grasshoppers and feeding them to praying mantis', and sitting for hours in swamps to catch frogs. We jumped off the muddy cliffs in Weber Canyon, sledded to our hearts content all winter long and lived at each others houses spending late nights playing pinball and listening to Rick James or the Go-Gos. We shared many escapades throughout our adolescence, which included a lot of dancing and dating. We entered Weber State's Early College Program together at age sixteen and moved out into our first apartment at seventeen after graduating from Bonneville High. Natalie was intelligent, creative and ambitious, which landed her many opportunities and successes. She was a dedicated, loving mother to Carter and Clara and a leader in the communities in which she lived. Natalie had such an impact on my life and I will always love and miss her. Laurie
I first met Natalie at H. Guy Child Elementary in the second half of 5th grade. I remember playing basketball and hanging out on the monkey bars in the park where I lived in Emerald Hills. I can never forget the slumber parties at her house listening to the Go-Go's. She was one of my first friends when my family and I moved to the the states from overseas. I remember daring each other to ride our bikes down the big hill without holding on to the handle bars. I then met Natalie again in my Senior year at Bonneville and got to know her on the basketball and volleyball teams when we came back to the states again. She had an incredible spirit and great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed!
I have so many wonderful memories with Natalie I don't know where to begin. From the days of elementary school soccer, softball and basketball games, to being junior high locker partners and decorating our door with fluorescent colored hearts, we had many adventures and fun times. My favorite times were fishing together with her dad and their dog, camping somewhere by a muddy lakeside and getting up early to tie on the lures and motor up and down the cold water together. She had a lot of great birthday parties on Halloween when we'd get sick eating so much junk and staying up late, toiletpapering boys' houses and torturing whoever fell asleep first (often me). Gnat persuaded me to go to concerts (like the Cars and Depeche Mode) to catch frogs and walk in muddy bogs, to pass notes in class (which was quite shocking for me!) and many other things that made life more interesting. There is now a hole where Natalie used to be that can't be filled. I really miss her.
