Attended USU, graduated in 1964 taught school at Riverview Junior High in Murray for 3 years. Spend summer of 1956 in Hawaii with Susan Anthony and friends Married Jerry Zaugg (classmate) June 1966. Honeymooned in Mexico, Guatemala
El Salvador,and Honduras for 3 months. Joined US Peace Corps in 1967. Served in Ghana, West Africa at the Sefwi Wiaso Teacher Training College. Attended U of Arizona, received M.Ed. in 1971. Lived in Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio,Texas while Jerry attended the Army officer Training. Moved to Panama Canal in 1972. Returned to USA in 1976 for Jerry to attend Vet. school at Colorado
State U. In 1980 moved to Bamako,Mali, West Africa.
Returned to USA in 1981 and moved to Montpelier, Idaho
where Jerry practiced Vet. Medicine. In 1982 Jerry accepted a job with USDA in Caldwell, Idaho. After a few years he joined the faculty at U of Idaho Teaching Center.
I began teaching English and Speech (Communication) at Jefferson Jr. High in Caldwell. After 18 years I retired.
We lived in Tepic, Nyarit Mexico for 6 months while Jerry taught at the university there.
We have attended the Spanish branch for years. I have served as Camp Leader, Relief Society Pres. twice, Humanitarian leader, Home food storage leader, Sunday School teacher, etc.
In 2003 we accepted a mission call to serve at the Visitors Center in Mexico City. Also served one half day a week in the temple. Organized missionaries to make baby quilts to give to new mothers at the charity hospital. It was a wonderful experience. Returned home in 2005.
Each Spring I work at a local greenhouse for 6 weeks.
I love gardening, reading, walking, bike riding, spending time with kids and grandkids, serving in the church. We enjoy traveling and have been fortunate to visit 7 countries in Africa, all states in Mexico, 8 European countries, all of Central America, 3 countries in South America, and various Caribbean Islands.
We live on 5 acres and have 4 horses, 5 cats, 1 dog, and 2 llamas.
We seem to always find things to keep us busy.
