Ati worked for the Indonesian Embassy as an interpeter and interpreted for many heads of state and well as presidents, including President Gerald Ford. Her personal family was instrumental in some of the changes in the Indonesian government resulting in their leaving Indonesia. She returned for a while and worked as a manager for the Hilton Hotel Chain in Bali, Indonesia for many years. Then she and Stuart moved to Australia to help care for aging parents. She died of cancer and was buried in just outside of Brisbane, Australia.
