Daniel Eastman

July 29, 1962 ~ May 25, 2021 (age 58)

Daniel George Eastman, age 58, of Ogden, Utah passed away on May 25th, 2021 following a long illness. Dan was born on July 29, 1962 in Decatur, Georgia to George Eastman and Donna Chavis.

He grew up in North Ogden, Utah and loved being near the mountains. He graduated from Weber High School in 1980. He was an athlete and enjoyed playing football; it's been said he was quite the formidable force to encounter on the football field. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and went on a mission to West Virginia. He married his love, Susan Strawn on November 29, 1986 and they were sealed in the Ogden temple. He wrestled for Weber State until he suffered a stroke at the age of 26. He battled numerous health issues following his first stroke, including chronic seizures, until his passing. Throughout these hardships, he emanated immense strength and always endured. The steadfast love and support from his wife were also a source of his strength. He was a loving father and husband. He liked to laugh and joke around. His children will remember him as a "goofball dad." He loved being outside even to do simple things like work in the family garden with his children. His grandchildren especially seemed to always bring a brightness to his eyes when he talked with them or watched them play. Dan had a very big heart and will be remembered fondly by many. He will be greatly missed.

Dan is survived by his wife Susan Eastman; his children Danielle Field, Selia Eastman, Nicholas Eastman and Shannel Eastman; his grandchildren Brooke Ward, Kameron Ward, Ryan Fahselt, Hayden Butler, Christian Butler, Aria Field and Jack Dorian Field. Additionally, he is survived by his father, George Eastman and his siblings Steve Eastman, Mark Eastman, Eric Eastman, Thomas Eastman, Katie Eastman and Sarah Rasmussen; and the entire Strawn family.

Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Chavis.

The family would like to thank Beehive Homes in Layton and Independence Health Services.
