OGDEN - Linda S . Nicholls , 59, died Thursday, March 4, 2004 at her home following a long, courageous battle with Chrest Syndrome.
She was born September 14, 1944 in Ogden, a daughter of George and Oral Mae Asay Stites.
In October of 1962, Linda married Larry Strebel in Elko, Nevada. They were later divorced. She married Frederick `Nick` A. Nicholls on December 15, 1984 in Ogden.
She was a lifelong resident of Ogden, graduating from Ben Lomond High School.
Linda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was the owner/operator of the Rock Bottom Lounge. She also worked as a bartender at Ranch Inn in Harrisville, Old Mans Saloon in Ogden, and the Ben Lomond Bowling Center lounge.
Linda played pool in the Northern Utah Pool League and VNEA Pool League, where she was Vice President. She loved playing the slot machines in Wendover and enjoyed crocheting.
Surviving are her husband of Ogden; one son and two daughters, Jeffrey (Kristen) Strebel, North Ogden; Justine Holfeltz, Sandy, UT; Deana (Lance) Sherrod, Roy; one stepson and one stepdaughter, Tony Nicholls Tarvin, (Kyle), Oregon; Nicky (Rod) Hilliard, Oregon; and 15 grandchildren.
Also surviving are her mother, Oral, and three brothers, Harold Stites, Wesley Stites and Allen Stites.
Linda was preceded in death by her father.
Memorial Services will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the Roy 30th Ward Chapel, 3301 West 6000 South.
Family will meet with friends at the Ward Chapel on Monday from 6 to 6:45 p.m.
