Bio:
I attended Iowa State University in Mechanical Engineering until 1990. I took off a year and got married. Mike was done with school by then - certified to teach Jr. High & High School. Then I finished my B.S. in Computer Science at Western Michigan University in 1994. I got a job at a systems integrator in Benton Harbor upon graduation and we bought a house in St. Joseph, MI. After Gansen was born, Mike taught at a High School in Stevensville, MI - he then stayed home with the kids during the day and taught adult ed or alternative ed classes in the evenings. I got a job at Pfizer in Kalamazoo in 2002. I had been commuting out there for a year working for the systems integrator, and they hired me in. We moved out there right before Gansen started Kindergarten. At that point we decided that Mike should stay home with the two kids full time, since I was on call 24X7 and they were starting school. I am really a type of computer programmer. It includes hardware and software and I help automate manufacturing processes.
