passed away June 26, 1977 from a drowning accident.

He was a member of the Duke Ellington Band when he passed. More Percy Marion Jr. details; prior to performing with Duke Ellington: Percy performed with "The Les Smith Soul Band with Lester Abrams." Percy played the tenor saxophone & flute. Note, about Abrams: In the late-70s, Abrams moved to California and became involved with The Doobie Brother's 1979 Grammy award winning "Minute by Minute album." Abrams arranged "What a Fool Believes," which won two 1979 Grammy awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. He is credited with piano and vocals on the album. He co-wrote the "Minute by Minute" single with McDonald, and "Open Your Eyes" with McDonald and Henderson.

Thanks for informing fellow and fellowette Trojans about the accomplishments of Percy Marion, who not only was a Very Talented Trojan, Percy was also a Graduate from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, who Majored in Music!
