Gary M. “Mike” Rix

April 25, 1943 – May 1, 2019

Gary M. “Mike” Rix joined his parents and siblings on May 1, 2019, after a private battle with cancer.  He is safe in a place with no pain.  He was a very private man who did not allow knowledge of his illness, and his family respected his strength, integrity, and conviction.

He was preceded in death by parents, Alfred H. and Helen Rix; sisters, infant Mary Rix and Darleen Garris; brothers, Adelbert and Roger Rix.  Survived by wife of 49 years, Anna Marie Rix; daughter, Stacey and David Jackson; sons, Mark A. Rix and Lalena Carrizosa, Matthew M. Rix and Kathryn Morris; grandchildren: Rachel Jackson, Madison and Mason Rix; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Eric Naylor, Kimberlee and Harold Loveless; many caring nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members; special friends at Offutt AFB 55th Civil Engineering Squadron and 172nd Transportation Company deployed to Vietnam in 1968.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 10th from 5pm to 8pm at the West Center Chapel.  SERVICES: Saturday, May 11th at 10am at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 1031 Sunset Trail with military honors at church.  Family Interment: Evergreen Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed by the family.
