Hey Julie......... Awesome job on the web site!! I really appreciate your time and effort! I think our classmates are really going to enjoy catching up on our own site!I know at our past reunions, a lot of people have put a lot of time making them happen! I am talking about all the way back to why we did a 5 year reunion! Just think our first reunion was needing just to make a new list of our class because we didn't have one!! I know at the 20th Year Reunion, Lisa Koss Kaine was awesome at making it happen! Kristen Roy Alford and I helped her..... but she made it happen! It was a lot of fun! I remember the three of us that Sat night at the reunion wondering (because we were "Reunioned" out!!) who is going to do our 25th!!?? Thank you for stepping up to the plate! It is a lot of work, but well worth it! The 20th ended up being a blast....I am sure the 25th Year Reunion will be the same! Thanks again for starting to make it happen!! Looking forward to it!! Hey Jennifer! I did not realize how unnerving reunion planning can be, thank you so much for being so involved for with all of them!

We have a great proposed venue at the Courtyard Marriott, but the max number of guests is 175, and with a class of 700, we are wondering how to accomodate if there are more than that who want to attend.

The age of social networking also means that we are all in touch with so many more classmates than we had been previously, and word spreads much more quickly. Would love some advice! How did you all decide how many to plan for?

Julie,

Thanks for all of the effort that evidently went into setting this site up. It should be an excellent resource and a lot of fun for us all. If there is a fund for donations towards its maintenance, let us know.

Julie,

Many thanks for all the hard work in setting this up. What an awesome way for everyone to keep in touch and up to date.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the donation suggestion Clay. Classmates can make donations to fund the site if they would like, but I was interested in some input from the class before activating that feature. It would certainly help offset the costs, and perhaps it could fund a mailer to our missing classmates before the reunion.

As my luck would go, I've been living in OP the last 3 years, thinking I was here forever, but my husband has taken a job back up in No. VA/DC so we are moving back there in June. I'd love to attend the reunion (and was definitely planning to before this!), but since things are so up in the air now re: the move, I was wondering how late is *too late* to register for the reunion?

Thanks, Kim

Hello, everyone! Thank you so much for setting up this great website for us and working on a reunion for us! I'm living in Italy right now, but there's a chance I could be in Orange Park at the end of July. It gave me a jolt to think it's been 25 years since we graduated! I haven't been around for any of the other reunions, so it's nice to have the possibility of attending this time. I hope you are all doing well! Michelle (Busse)Huff

It is only through a very strange set of circumstances I found this site and learned about our reunion, and I'm so glad I did!  Thank you ever so much, Julie, for making it happen!  A girl I worked with one summer in college while playing keyboards/piano in New York found me online just last week.  She began her communication with:  "Is this Kayla Liechty, the pianist I knew in New York?  If so, you should Google yourself because OPHS Class of '85 is looking for you!"  No joke.  I am pretty tech savvy, but I had never Googled myself - no time!  So glad she told me to do it.  I have had more fun looking at the profiles of not-so-old friends and comparing the names to both my memory and my yearbooks (as well as those hilarious mid-school autograph books - I have messages from 1979 by Jennifer Thrasher, Mary Ellen Lozito, Eddie Witt, Sung Hae Kim, Clay Kearson, etc. - I'll have to bring it to the reunion).

As fate would have it, my husband and I will be in Florida the week of the reunion, staying with my folks on Fleming Island.  I just paid our registration for the 24th and can't wait to see you all!  We're interested in golf if any games make.

Take care, and I'll see you in July!

Hi,

I'm so excited about the upcoming reunion.  Kevin and I will be there for sure.  I was wondering if there was any more talk about Saturday afternoon events.

I was hoping that maybe the guys would coordinate a round of golf.  Kevin loves to play and I will be his "cart girl."

See you all there.

Sandy

Julie...

Greetings from Charlotte, NC

I just wanted to let you know how much I've enjoyed reading about the reunion and seeing all the classmate profiles.  I know that you, John and Jana Ray have put a great deal of work into making the reunion a success and I wanted to say Thank You to all of you who shared a part in the planning and coordination.

Unfortunately, I am not able to attend the reunion as my oldest son is playing in the East Coast National Championships this weekend for Nations Baseball.  I had the chance to go through Orange Park two weeks ago on our family vacation to Sarasota.  It was great to be able to show my two sons and my wife the school.  My sons could not believe how big the school was, I couldn't believe how old it looked, as that was the first time I'd been back to OP in the past 15 years.

I hope everyone has a great time and enjoys themselves.  I am sure it will be great for everyone to reunite and remember the great times we had.

Best Wishes,

Stacy Chaffin

Hey all you Knuckleheads. We getting old yet. I became a Grand dad almost two years ago. I never realized how amazing how it is to be a grand dad. Years ago I would look up to my parents and their parents. Now I'm there. I hope all of you are blessed, and look forward to hearing from someone, anyone from the best class at OPHS. Again God bless and walk in peace.... Robert.
