Our beloved Drum Major, Kenneth Klein, died in an auto accident in which he was a passenger on December 2, 1998.  The fatal accident and thick fog forced police to shut down part of Butler Boulevard for nearly five hours. 

The Florida Highway Patrol said Karl Adams was westbound on Butler Boulevard when he fell asleep and started drifting off the road. When he woke up, he tried to steer back onto the road but over corrected. The Chevrolet Blazer rolled down the embankment near Gate Parkway.
