Re: Choir Posted Monday, September 28, 2009 03:08 PM I remember when we won...I think... a choir competition at St. Agnes in Houston. I have a photo of our group on stage. I remember the drama about our hair/bangs and how we had to cut them before we were allowed to participate. We were good. I think our director was Mrs. White. Does anyone else have memories about this? |

RE: Choir Posted Monday, September 28, 2009 03:23 PM oh yeah, I remember that. We wore a white shirt, white skirt, and a vest with something on it, maybe the initials of the school. There were a lot of other schools at the contest. Going to Houston was a big deal for us. |

RE: Choir Posted Monday, September 28, 2009 04:28 PM I remember Ms Conway in Grade School......... remember the Ocarinas? I don't think we ever got even one song down. I also remember the plastic burning my lips - probably PCBs or some other chemical like vynal acetate or some else just as harmLESS. I remember Dr Meatyard in HS. We had a program at the Jack Tar. I thought we won a competition in Beaumont also. |

RE: Choir Posted Monday, September 28, 2009 05:19 PM Did anybody else play the autoharp? I think that's what it was called. Like a harp, but you had to hold it on your lap and play with a guitar pick. I might have mastered one song, and the Tonette? I could only play You Are My Sunshine on it. Mrs. Conway could really play some bogie woogie piano! |
