Who remembers our Senior trip?  Who were the chaperones?  Did anyone actually see them on the trip?  Who remembers surfing?  Did we have fun!  The first taste of FREEDOM, for me it was!

The chaperones were my sister Barbara and her then husband Jesse Welch.  Also it was Carol Perkins' sister and her husband if I remember right.  I remember they confiscated all the booze and us having the hotel to ourselves.  I can't remember the name of it though.

I really did remember but wanted to know if everyone had as much fun as I did.  Danny and Pat Aaron were the other couple.  I can't tell you how many times the thought of that trip has brought a smile to me.  It was the best thing of all our high school years!  How did you ever talk them into that???

Senior Trip?  What trip?  Don't think we planned one due to the school closing...

You mean the senior trip where Jesse and Barbara told all of us to bring them our hidden booze?

Or the senior trip where I received many compliments on my Orange Glow?

As I remember it, I caught more ribbing from Shirley and Carolyn!

Remember when Gauthier lost his graduation watch in the surf - that sad and funny at the same time.  (I still think he sold it)

How about the Jelly Fish - Man of War-type - we kept in a water pitcher on the dining table of our room.  At least that bastard didn't sting anyone again!

DO you guys remember all the flack concerning our senior trip?  Thanks to David Richard, our class president, we succeeded.

I remember we started talking about a senior trip just before Spring.  The official word came down that St. Mary's HS would NOT sponsor a senior trip.  Most of us felt dejected, but not David.  He saw it as an opportunity.

David had brochures sent to him (maybe to the school) for New Orleans.  His reasoning was if the school wasn't going to sponsor the trip, we could go and do as we wanted.  It took MAYBE three weeks for the nuns to determine that several of us WERE going to go to New Orleans for an un-sponsed senior trip.  Seeing the writing on the walls or maybe the possible mug-shots some of us would leave in N.O., the school decided to sponsor the trip and NO, we were not going to N.O.

This is how our band of hung over ex-student came to meet up at the school at 5:30 the morning following our graduation.  So of us slept all the way to Padre Island.  Some of us felt blue.  One of me glowed Orange.
