Gary Lynn Hockman Sr. (age 79) passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023. He was born in Pittsburg, Kansas, on September 30, 1943, to John Spencer and Stella Virginia (Simons) Hockman.

After graduating from Clay High School, Gary proudly served in the U.S. Army (Vietnam). Upon release from active duty, he pursued his life's work as a welder and pipe fitter until retirement.

Gary married the love of his life, Diane Kroeger, and they spent 42 years together until her passing in 2015. He is also preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his four children: Laura Banks, Jill Hockman, Gary Jr. (Danielle), and Chris Hockman, along with ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Gary was an avid shitzu lover and, in his spare time, enjoyed playing bingo and participating in antique shows.

A family-directed Celebration of Life Memorial was held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. Officiating was Pastor Rev. Jarod Koenig of Redeemer Lutheran Church, 911 W Mt. Vernon St, Nixa, Missouri. Attendees paid their respects to the family from 9:30 to 10:00 AM, with a luncheon following. After the services, Gary was united with his late wife, Diane, and placed in the columbarium at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
