January 25, 1944 - March 12, 2026
Age 82
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon M. (Lalendorf) Toth, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a friend, and one of the strongest women we knew!
Sharon's courageous battle with cancer came to an end on March 12, 2026, at our family home in Sun City Center, FL. She was 82 years old. Our mother was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and grace. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was a proud graduate of Clay High School (’62) and went on to get her sports administration degree from Bowling Green State University in 1993. She worked in many different fields over the years. Still, it was her love of sports that led her to work for the Mid-American Conference, where she was instrumental in moving the Conference Headquarters to Toledo, OH, in 1984, and held the position of Administrative Assistant for nearly 15 years.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph F. Toth; sons, Joseph, Jacob (Jason), and Jason (Janell) Toth; eight grandchildren: Addison, Ethan, Broc, Ashley, Carson, Delaney, Eli, and Olivia; five great-grandchildren; sister Nancy (Mike) Almaguer; and many loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethyle and Roy Lalendorf, and sister Yvonne Lalendorf. A memorial service and celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 611 Woodville Rd, Toledo, OH, this summer (details to follow). The family suggests tributes for Sharon be given to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
