TERRY A. SHORT

Age 81

Terry A. Short, age 81, of Oregon, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. Terry was born to Alvin Harry and Bertha Mildred (Schmidt) Short on January 12, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio. He was a 1962 graduate of Clay High School and served our country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. Terry married the love of his life Helen (Seimet) on July 6, 1963. He was a Stationary Engineer 2nd Class by trade working for many years for Interlake and retiring from St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

Terry was an avid steam engine enthusiast making model steam engines for most of his adult life. He always said, "Every day you can pour parts is a good day". Terry had his own foundry at his home where he created his parts for his steam engines. He looked forward to the Thrasher Convention every year in Fulton County where he could show his work. Terry also enjoyed playing cards with his family, listening to Elvis, and fishing.

Terry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen; sons, Buddy (Marie) Short and Michael (Beth) Short; grandchildren David (Amy Lapp) Short, Dennis (Libbey Jaeblon) Short, Caleb Short, Nina Short, and Daniel Short; siblings, Forest (Jeanine) Short, Caroline Short, and Mary Short; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronald, Sonny, Timothy; and sister, Roxanne.

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 12 to 4 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the Toledo Food Bank.
