Bernadine K. Gladieux, 80, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024.Bernadine was born in Toledo, Ohio, July 19, 1943 to Bernard and Cornelia (Altman) Seimet. On July 11, 1964, she married her high school sweetheart, Charles Gladieux. Bernie will forever be known as the "lunch lady" at Lake Local Schools where she worked for over 30 years. Bernie was also a licensed Beautician, always keeping her family, friends, and neighbors looking their best. Bernie also enjoyed working for many years with Country Catering. She was an avid crafter and bunco player and was the chosen cake baker for family celebrations. Most of all, Bernie enjoyed sharing her time and love with her family and friends. She was a former member of the Millbury Fire Maids and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Bernie will be forever remembered for her volunteer work in the community and would typically be found working at the Millbury Fire Hall or the annual Millbury Ox Roast. Bernie was a beacon of optimism in times of trouble and doubt, instilling this mindset in everyone that she met.

Bernie is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (James) Hauter and Sherry Whitacre; grandchildren, Ryan and Morgan Hauter, Connor, Payton, Keegan, and Bradie Whitacre; siblings, Dwuane (Linda) Seimet and Phyllis Seimet; along with many loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister-in-law Patty Moreno.

The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280), Friday, March 1, 2024, where the rosary will be prayed at 3:30 pm and visitation from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 11:00 am in St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd, Oregon, where the family will receive friends at 10:00 am. Interment: Lake Township Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Wood County Committee on Aging Northeast Senior Center, (Walbridge). Bernie’s family wishes to thank Dr Neiman Odeh and the staff of Genoa Medical Center for their loving care of Bernie over the years.
