In Memory

Mary Catherine Cox (Ulrich)

Everyone knew her as Cathi Cox not Mary. She was on the Softball team. Sorry there is no picture for anyone to see. She had an asthma attack on Monday and fell into a coma. She passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2008. She was an organ donor and her heart has been given to a lucky individual on the east coast. She was survived by three children. She lived in Kankakee.

You may contact her sister Chrissy at 708-710-3067 for more information.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Cathy's passing. I remember that she was always smiling and tried her hardest to make you smile! She was a kind, loving person and will be missed.

Cathy went to a small church with me when we were little and she was the sweetest person to be around. I am sad for the entire family and my family and I still have a place in our hearts for all of them.
I am sure she is happy spending eternity with the Lord but will be greatly missed here on earth by all who were blessed to have met her.
With love,Tina Ballard Roberts

I am absolutely blown away!!!!! Cathi and I lived in the same apartment when her and Dave first got married and had their first son. She and I lived directly across the hall and would sit in the doorways and talk when the kids were just babies.I have pictures of her at my daughters first birthday party almost 18 years ago. I remember a time when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter, and my oldest locked me out accidently....Cathi and I lived on the second floor of a 3 floor apartment in Mokena. She climbed from the first balcony, to the second balcony. Climbed over the railing, in thru the sliding glass door and let me back in my apartment. I was too fat and pregnant to climb like that. I have sooooooo many fabulous memories of her. I just can't believe she is gone.....God took another great person home.

I want to thank you for the kind words and sharing memories of Cathy. It truly has helped me by coming to this site and reading your stories. Cathy was such an amazing person. Her smile would light up any room and her comedic personality just kept everyone laughing.

Most of her friends knew me if not all as I was a tag along to all the high school parties. Seriously what Junior would bring their Freshman sister to hang out with them? Of course when she was grounded I would have to cover for her but in my eyes it was well worth lying to my mom because now I have so many more memories of Cathy then I would if she didn't let me "tag along". She was my best friend and I miss her something fierce, my heart aches every single day but I know that she is not suffering anymore and she's at peace.

She is survived by three beautiful children and they truly need all the prayers anyone can give as none of this makes sense to them or anyone else for that fact. Like I said thank you so very much for your words as they have been a wonderful source of support for me. If anyone would like to get in touch with me for any questions you could email me at cturbett@embarqmail.com . I've had a few people call me and I do want to say thank you so very much as it helps sharing stories as I try to heal. Please take care and love your family and friends with all you have because you just never know when it will be your last.

I was friends with Cathi thru high school and she stood up in my wedding. I only lost touch with her about two years before she passed and for that I am deeply saddened. You never realize when your time is up so be sure to let every one you love know how much they mean to you every day. Don't ever think, " Oh I remember so and so, I should give them a call someday." Do it today! Cathi was a sweet wonderful friend until the end and I miss her dearly. Until, we meet in Heaven kind friend......all my love to you.
