What Happened To Pine Hills?????????

Hello All,

I am writing to just get feedback about the Pine Hills area of Orlando.  In early February, I was in Orlando for a funeral.  My family member lives in the Hiawassee area of Pine Hills. My husband and I drove around to see how much Pine Hills had changed and were that amazed at how run down it has become. What Happened???

Evans was under construction, and Silver Star and Pine Hills Rds were so extremely busy! Much more than I remembered. We left in 1985 to move to New Jersey and then came back in 1992 for a visit and saw significant changes, but nothing like it is now.

I used to live on Indialantic Drive and it was almost unrecognizable. My husband used to live off of Hastings and the changes over there were startling.

I know that change does happen, but wow!  I also had an opportunity to see MetroWest for the first time and it looked a little better.  There is so much that surrounds Valencia Community College on Kirkman road than back in the 1970's & 1980's. 

Does anyone have any thoughts or comments?  Inquiring minds want to know.  Thanks.  I welcome your honest responses

Well, Nicole... Orlando has went through significant changes... and now, Evans looks amazing. I love the color added to the highways and throughout the city. It looks like a tourist city... I am totally excited about the Holy Land Experience and all the added amusement parks. When we visit there is just not enough time and money to totally satisfy ...but, it leaves me tired enough to be glad to get on the plane back to Hawaii. I do look forward to my next trip back to O-town; and hope to see as many family and friends as time allows.

But, the part of Pine Hills I did visit just last year, 2013 - was rough. Orlandoans please talk to your city council or legislators and get the neighborhoods up to par. Form a neigborhood campaign... or something.
