Well, I actually left Oroville for the Bay Area in the summer of '88 and graduated from Hillsdale High in San Mateo in '89. Went to JC for one semester after high school, which proved to be entirely too distracting for my social life.
I buzzed around for a year and was forced to join the Marines under the poverty draft. (Yes, the Bay Area was expensive, even back then) For five glorious years I was provided a paycheck, a bed and three square meals a day, not withstanding additional obligatory duties (Oh, the Mogadishu Memories [sarcasm added]). Actually got the chance to visit Australia again, this time, on it's West Coast, Perth.
After serving my time, I went back to the Bay Area, back to school, and eventually graduated from UC Davis in 2000 with a degree in philosophy (mighty impressive until I tried to get a job). I've worked in and out of the gaming industry for the past eight years and I'm currently pursuing a graduate degree in accounting at Univ. of Nev., Reno.
