Judy Stibal Mayer

We love living in Osage and have been here since 1982. For 8 years I was a stay at home mom and then worked as the church secretary at Sacred Heart for 10 years. In 1997 I became the secretary to the superintendent of Osage schools (1997-2015). I joined the Osage Education Foundation as a board member when it began back in 1999 and maintain the database of over 7,000 alumni. We are avid golfers and go on golfing vacations with 3 other couples every March.

All three of our kids and five grandkids live in Colorado so we travel often to visit them! Nick (a software engineer for Google in Boulder, CO) & Pam live in Erie, Colorado and have three boys; Allison (a physical therapist) & her husband Ryan live in Denver; and Jordan (a chiropractor in Englewood, CO) & Vanessa live in Denver, Colorado and have a son & daughter.

Dave retired in 2014 and I retired in 2015. Seems like we are always on the go. In 2018, we were lucky enough to get tickets for The Master's in Augusta, Georgia! Since we are both avid golfers, we were both thrilled to be there! We love to join friends for dinner out, watch movies, and I stay busy with a book club, attend Bible Sharing, am in a social sorority, have coffee with friends and keep up with yard work! The older I get the more I enjoy connecting with old friends and making new friends.

Dave and I love living in Osage and really enjoy keeping our class connected through our reunions.

I started coming to school in Osage our senior year, after attending grade school at St. Mary's in New Haven and then going to Marion High School in Stacyville for 3 years. The high school in Stacyville closed at the end of my junior year. Coming to Osage was a lot of fun! I knew some of the kids already from my grade school years and also through 4-H. I went to my first ever football game the night of homecoming! Dances at the roller rink were so much fun and I remember going to a party at Mary Jo Mensing's house. Walking the halls before school started in the morning was such a new experience for me. There were all those cute boys to look at!!!!

Dave and my twin brother Jim became friends when we were seniors but Dave and I never dated until we were at NIACC in Mason City. During college Dave lived with two of my brothers and during the years after NIACC he lived with two more of my brothers. Dave always said that he fell in love with my family before he fell in love with me!
